Happy Father's Day

Adam Has Had A Run of Bad Luck

Adam has not been feeling well for a few weeks now.  Last Friday, his pediatrician wanted to look a little closer at things and ordered some tests.  Ultrasound of his belly, x-ray, and bloodwork.  Guess which one he flipped out on?!   He was ok with thee idea of a shot, but when we explained that the nurse was going to draw blood, he was not on board.  He explained that he wasn't ready and wanted to know the exact spot they were going to stick him.  After his right arm went dry, they had to draw from his left.  He wasn't happy.   He was trying not to be rude, but he got into the upper octaves of screams of panic.  Poor guy.  Thankfully, everything came back totally normal.  The pediatrician is now fairly sure of a diagnosis for a temporary problem.  We are hoping she is right.  Time will tell.  He was so brave that day and we are so proud of him.

Caleb Likes Hats

Caleb has a love/hate relationship with hats.  He loves to wear them, but gets so frustrated when he can't put one on all by himself.  This particular hat was not a problem.  He borrowed it from his 6 month old cousin, Lydia, who was visiting.  He felt very fashionable and felt it was a good substitute for a cowboy hat.

Loves to mimic anything and everything his big brother does or says.

Loves to dance to music, but it looks more like he's galloping
Loves drinks of any kind
Dislikes holding hands to do stuff

Dislikes that he can't see what Mommy is cooking on the counter and screams, "Down, Down", which really means "Up, Up" so he can see

Magic Balloons

Aunt Teresa,
Do you remember those 3 balloons you sent me when I turned four on March 6th of this year.  Well, TWO OF THEM ARE STILL INFLATED!!  I can't believe it!  It's been over 3 months.  I wonder how long they will last?  My mom and dad are baffled.  Thanks for sending me magic balloons!   Love, Adam

New Water Park In Our Area!!

This park,  Liberty Lagoon, is designed just for little kids.  It's not too big and all the water pools are less than 3.5 feet deep.  I took the boys one day by myself to see if I could handle it alone.  It worked so great.  The layout was fantastic for being able to see your kids and your stuff and still have a blast!!  We will be spending tons of time here this summer.

Adam Completes TBall Season

Adam had a great first season of TBall.  He was an awesome hitter who we could count on to hit it past 2nd base consistently and who worked really hard on fielding.  He was all over the balls that came right to him, but had no interest in the football tackles the other kids were dishing out fighting over the ball.  As the season went on, the pileups lessened and the kids really learned the the fundamentals of the game.  Like...don't chase your own ball after you hit it; you have to run to first, first; you cannot run the bases with your bat. 

Adam has been practicing baseball with his Mema and Pop since birth, so he was well aware of the rules from day one.

Kayaking the Pontchartrain

In June, we took a Saturday to go kayak on Lake Pontchartrain, north of New Orleans.  It's a little salty because it opens up to the Gulf which was a new adventure for us.  We had a headwind going out to one point, but that made it super easy to come back to the dock.  We saw jumping/flying fish and we all had a blast hanging out together all day.  We also swam at the public beach, played in the sprayground, and ate a picnic lunch.  Good times.
