LSU vs. W. Virginia
We headed out to tailgate again for the game last weekend. Beautiful weather, great company, great food, less than inspiring game. It was a W, but left us with a sour taste. Anyway, we had a blast hanging out on campus all day as a family. Check out these cute boys!!

Wheeeeeee!!!
When visiting family recently, Adam got the chance to use a swimming pool slide for the first time. He must have gone down this slide 50 times. At the end of each slide, he'd yell with glee before hitting the water. Then, he started taking water guns down with him and would come up shooting!!! So fun!! Caleb got to practice his breast-stroke while there too! We didn't let him go down the slide though he seemed to want to try it.

Sick X 3
When we got back from a family wedding in Houston this weekend, Adam got sick Monday night. Apparently he woke up sick and tried to make it to our room, all the way across the house, throwing up the whole way. Yeah, yuck. I helped him throw up some more and change his clothes while Chris cleaned carpets and tile about 2 am. It lasted about 12 hours and then within 30 minutes of each other Caleb and I both got the bug. I have never changed baby clothes and baby sheets so many times...at least 6 times within 6 hours. At one point I had to put him back into the yucky crib while I ran to the restroom to get sick. Probably too much information, but we have had a rough week. Chris worked from home to help out with kids and awful laundry, thank you sweetest husband ever!! Luckily this bug only lasted about 12 hours, but it's the worst I've ever had! You're welcome for not posting any pictures of this!

Adam
So, most of you know that Adam has been receiving Speech Services since January. He has been working really hard, and so have I, to accomplish the improvements he's already made. However, it's just not enough. Through his current therapist, we were encouraged to go to the local school system, which offers speech services to children at 3 years old that qualify. So, for the last month, we've been jumping though all the hoops to get him evaluated several times to determine the severity of his articulation disorder and if they will accept him into the program.
Finally, last Friday, after meeting with the therapist at the school we're zoned for, HE'S IN!! We'll have another month or so for her to write the IEP and then we have to all meet on it, but once he's in, he's in. I very much liked the therapist and she let me sit with her for an hour and unload all my junk on her. She was great with him, very good at explaining to me what she thinks he suffers from, and how she wants to treat him...All a breath of fresh air. It is still going to be a long process for treatment. But, she wants to see him 2-3 times a week and put him in a small group of his peers. I can't explain the relief of this. I want so badly for him to feel confident in his communication before he really starts school and develops relationships with other kids. We all know how cruel kids can be. So, with this extra help, I am not so fearful of that fast-approaching timeline.
I just wanted to get this off my chest and say thank you friends and family that have been supportive with this and never treated Adam any differently. I'll keep you posted on his lightning speed progress!!

Caleb Turns 10 Months!!

Adam the Comedian
Adam stories...
A few weeks ago, Chris was flicking beer caps in the living room (I know). This immediately caught Adam's attention and became a father/son teaching moment. Adam, though not great at it, was determined. Then, a couple days ago, Caleb was throwing some cheap McDonald's toy on the tile. Adam woke up from his nap, stumbled out into the living room with eyes still half shut, and said, "I thought I heard beer caps."
Adam has been playing the Wii bowling lately at home. He challenged me to a game and beat me 162-117. In the two days following his high score has reached 202. Just so you all know, he is only playing this a few minutes a day. I can't wait to take him to a real bowling ally.

LSU vs. UNC
Chris and I just went on a fantastic* road trip to see the LSU season opener against UNC at the neutral sight of the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Beautiful weather, beautiful state park, beautiful time.
* LSU did get a W, but it was ugly. Feelings for the remainder of the season are stressed. Further blog postings about this are guaranteed.

We were able to do this with friends and no kids because my parents graciously took over parental duties for the entire Labor Day weekend (4 days). Adam and Caleb had a great time and my sister was also able to come add additional entertainment for them. Thank You all so much!!
