Adam and Mommy Moment
So yesterday, I was catching up on my So You Think You Can Dance episode on the DVR and Adam was finishing up breakfast. He came into the living room with me and leaned against the couch for a minute, watching the show. I wasn't paying much attention when he strolled out into the middle of the room, in a wide open area, and started to dance in a whirley, two-year-old fashion. He twirled and spun and clapped and just looked so cute. Then, when a couple came on the show and did some kind of ballroom dancing, he watched them for a moment and then he looked at me, came over and grabbed my hand and said, "Mommy, dance." I could not believe it! My son, at 2 years old, asked me to dance. My heart melted. We proceeded to cut loose on the "dance floor" and mimic what we saw on the show. Loved it!!

New Baby Update
I went to the doctor today at 14 weeks along. Everything is good, heartbeat was 152. We scheduled the ultrasound for 6 weeks from now to hopefully find out if we're having a girl or a boy. I have to start drinking Ensure to add to my calorie intake. Just turning 30, this doesn't do much for my aging self-esteem. But, I'm having so much trouble eating anything that hopefully this will put on some pounds. I'm doing better with feeling gross. It's only hitting me about every 3 days now. I'm hoping I'm getting over it now that I'm into the second trimester. More to come!!
The Summer of Water Fun!
If you haven't noticed by the theme of this blog...we like spraygrounds, pools, hoses, anything with water. This past weekend, we had some friends, Brad and Danielle (yes guys, you made the blog...congratulations!) come to visit and we did an 8 mile bike trip to our favorite and only LA brew pub, The Abita Brewery. Right next door was a new sprayground so we stripped Adam down to his shorts and let him go at it. Notice the picture where he's angling the spray with his bum...this was hilarious. He'd sit on a sprayer and then wave to us.

We Discovered New Entertainment
We went and met Chris for lunch at City Park and checked out the new interactive fountain they built. Adam was a little unsure of the timing of the water. At one point, I told him to go get his hair wet and that's how I got the first picture...he's so literal. We'll be spending a lot of time here this summer. Fun stuff!!

We Have a Pharmacist in the Family!!
This past weekend, we headed to Monroe, Louisiana, the home of University of Louisiana at Monroe, to watch Chris' sister, Laura, graduate from pharmacy school. We went to two ceremonies, the white coat and the regular ceremony. We were all very proud of what she's accomplished. She graduated Saturday, moved to Tennessee on Sunday and would see the house they bought for the first time, and started work on Monday. Stress much??? We wish them all the best and hope to visit soon!

The Holeman Sprayground
We started the morning by preparing to go to the Sprayground in the neighboring town with our small playgroup. We drove up and it was closed. Adam was so disappointed. I felt so bad, we went to Plan B. We headed to Wally-World and bought two water activities for a total of $15. Then we went back home and set up The Holeman Sprayground. Adam and his 3 friends from down the street had a blast just splashing and getting soaked in the front yard. The slip-n-slide's true purpose was wasted on the little ones, but they enjoyed running and then jumping into the puddle at the end. Good Times.

We Announce The New Addition!!
We went home to my parents' house in Pineville to celebrate what they thought was my 30th birthday. However, after Adam got totally filthy, which we knew he would, Chris and I snuck in the house to "change" him. We put on the new shirt that said, "I'm the BIG BROTHER", and we sent him back out to the party to see who would catch on. Teresa, Mom, and Diane caught on first, of course. Then the men did. We were missing Chris' Dad, Bob, but we told him secretly the night before on the phone. It was a great surprise!!

Chris and Sarah Go To Oregon
Chris and I had a fabulous trip to Oregon to see my brother and his wife, Brian and Jill. We fell in love with the state that we crammed into 8 days. We saw whales, sea lions, and bald eagles. We saw the coast, the high desert, lava caves, the Redwoods, and the Columbia River Gorge. Chris got to partake in the active beer industry throughout the state and I enjoyed the food and water. The "all-day" sickness joined us throughout the trip...which was a bummer. We stayed in places that were 4 stars all the way down to the EconoLodge, but had a blast! We can't wait to go back!!
