This Weekend...

Check out what we accomplished this weekend...

We visited the downtown Red Stick Farmer's Market and stocked up on some locally grown produce. Yummmmm!

Adam bought some delicious chocolate milk with his $1.

We went to the famous Tony's Seafood Market to get some catfish fillets to experiment with frying fish. We never fry food mainly b/c we are BAD at it. However, we love to eat it. We decided to start practicing and we are proud to say that we had a successful batch.

Caleb watched the Saint's Game!!

Adam bit me during a bout of rough-housing. I'm pretty sure it was on accident (he was going for my sweatshirt), but that didn't stop me from putting a huge guilt trip on him.

This was a few days ago, but I just got a shot of it. I was cutting Adam's hair in the backyard and the dogs went to barking at something suddenly. Adam jerks his head around to see what the fuss is all about and...bzzzzz. Bald spot. I'm hoping his hair is going through a nice growing phase. We will be wearing a lot of hats.

Adam and Chris had a boys' camp out in the camper in the driveway. Chris brought it home for inspection since we haven't used it this winter yet and then decided it was a perfect weekend to finally do a boys' camp out. Adam was on cloud nine. They packed their sleeping bags, took Popsicles, wore their slippers, and watched He-Man DVD's on the laptop. They had a blast.

SUPER SAINTS!!!

Geaux Saints!! They win over the Vikings in OT...what a gut-wrencher! We're going to the Super Bowl for the first time ever! Chris and I were reflecting earlier today on what a great time we chose to move to Baton Rouge, LA. We were here for LSU to win the National Championship in Football, the College World Series in Baseball and for the Saints to go to the Super Bowl for the first time! Who Dat!!

Ten Things

Thanks to my friend Christie for my blog award!! Writing a blog is more for my sanity now than other's entertainment. But, that I got an award for my crazy thoughts is hilarious! Thanks Christie for giving this and allowing me another outlet besides slamming kitchen cabinets.

The rules are to pass it on to other bloggers, but I think I'm just going to absorb this one...Not enough people keep up with blogs to pass along to...I'm talking about you Teresa. You are also supposed to name 10 things you love....Here goes.

1. My boys. Too many reasons why to explain.
CALEB
ADAM
MY OTHER HALF

2. My new SHARK SWEEPER. Goodbye broom and stupid Swiffer pads.

3. Having family close. And also family in Florida, Oregon, and Tennesse (just to name a few) that we love dearly, but it doesn't hurt for vacation spots either.

4. Tylenol...for many reasons.

5. The show...Modern Family...check it out.

6. BEER. Wheat beers especially.

7. VACATIONS

8. NAP TIME

9. TAILGATING AT LSU GAMES AND SOMETIMES THE ACTUAL GAME.

10. Modern Conveniences like my new washer and dryer. Anything that makes my life easier.

these are not posted in order at all except for number 1. To order would require too much thinking and then I would need either number 4 or number 6. Have a great weekend!!

Only 1 in Diapers!!

Adam is POTTY-TRAINED!! I had nothing to do it. Chris and I have been pushing for months hoping that he would get it before Caleb came along...nothing doing. He would have highs and lows, but never anything official. Then, 3 days ago he up and asked me to go pooh-pooh on the potty. I flipped cause he's never done this. Then, I told him he could put on the big boy underwear we'd been saving b/c he did a big boy thing by going to the potty. Since then, I haven't had to ask him or remind him or check him or anything...it just clicked. He's even woken up in the morning and gone all by himself before coming to wake me up. He's also mastered zippers and buttons on pants. We've been out to do errands and no accidents!! I knew he had it in him, but didn't think it would happen so suddenly. This is HUGE!! I keep waiting for a giant, gross accident to bring me back to reality.
Other big news, Caleb is sleeping in his own room now!! I started to panic b/c he's been sleeping in a glider every night and we're planning a trip to North Carolina in a week and will not have anything with motion there for him to sleep in. So, I wanted to see how he would do in a normal crib. Lets just say he's not totally comfortable, but he's making it. He works his way from one end of the crib to the other. I don't know how he does it.

I have a 10 lb. baby!

Caleb is becoming a chunky monkey...just the way i like babies! His tummy issues are doing much better since the Dr. put him on milk of magnesia. Adam's speech classes are going well and he is showing some rejuvenated interest in potty-training...I'm holding my breath.
So, we got a Wii for Christmas from my parents. I got Wii Fit Plus to spark my weight loss bonanza!!!!! (Sarcasm loaded statement) I don't know how fast the pounds are going to come off considering I'm not restricting my diet AT ALL, but I am really enjoying the games and challenges on it. I realized I can't do 1 push-up, but I'm a natural at Yoga (haven't done one pose before).
How long can you keep up your outside Christmas lights before you're labeled a neighborhood eye-sore. Guess it depends on your neighborhood. I'm thinking we're going to push the limit this year.
Have a great weekend! It's getting down to 10 degrees tonight here...I hope I make it out alive. Not used to this kind of weather.
p.s. Sorry all you Texas fans. I'm pulling for Bama and the SEC...not Saban though.
I'm working out mom!!

I think my cheeks are filling in nicely!

Mama Polar Bear and Baby Polar Bear...it's so cold here right now!!

Christmas 2009!!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We were so happy to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning as a family and start our traditions with Adam. He definitely won this Christmas. Adam and Caleb are the only grand kids on both sides as of now and were showered with love this Christmas. It was so cute to watch him open all his new stuff and get so excited about each thing.
A few observations...
*Apparently Adam thought all the presents under the tree were for him. Each time he sat down with a new present we had to stop him and tell him to read the tag. He never caught on to this... probably b/c he kept hoping they all were for him.
*You know those sheets of plastic bubbles? Well, they are more fun than toys.
*We have come to the realization that this Christmas put us over the edge on stuff. We now need a bigger house or I need to clear some stuff out. I started to do this in Adam's room just to get his new stuff into it.
Here's a few pics from our wonderful day. Thank you to our family and friends who helped make it so special.

Two is Better (and busier) Than One...

Yes, we're here. I am now in the thick of having 2 children and blogging has not made the to-do list until now. Here's a recap of our last week or so...

*I accidentally shoplifted from Wal-Mart. Apparently a huge block of cheddar cheese slid under Caleb's car seat in the cart and I didn't find it until we were in the parking lot. OOPS.
*I am now the official hair stylist for the family. With my new trusty clippers I can do all the boys' hair. I cut Chris' for the first time last night (after doing Adam's a couple times and it coming out well he finally trusted me to do it) and I was very proud of myself. I can now save us about $40 every other month and $60 when Caleb's hair decides to grow Whoo-HOO! Love saving money.
*Caleb has acid-reflux and is now on meds. They haven't kicked in yet, but I'm hopeful. Nights are the worst, but we're on a 2 good nights then 1 horrible night schedule.
*Nursing is going much better after we got rid of the thrush. Details only if you ask.
*I am so excited about watching Adam this Christmas. It's a whole new world now that he is aware of traditions and the magic of the season. He's so cute when he tries to sing Jingle Bells with "Hey" added after every pause.
*Adam is starting speech therapy next week. He was finally evaluated by a private therapist and was accepted. I'm so glad. She seems to think he can work out the bugs with a little practice. He's also going to have his hearing tested again to see if he may have fluid behind the ear which would be affecting his hearing. Keep you posted.
Christmas is in 2 days and I know I'll have a ton of pics from that day, but I wanted to add a few. Remember to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and thank him for what he's done for all of us!
