Pride Consumes Me
After 3 days of swimming lessons with Gigi and Daddy, my boys are near the professional level. I cannot believe how natural they both are in the water. Please look for them at the 2030 Summer Olympics where they will beat Michael Phelps' records. Caleb just laughs and splashes at 6 months with hardly any fuss. And, I'm told, floating on his back is extremely advanced. Adam is awesome. Just watch the videos. Remember, he just turned 3 in March.

A Kiss From a Giraffe Must Be Good Luck
We went to the zoo again, because we joined and must take advantage of our passes, with Chris and his parents yesterday. Adam's favorite animal there is the giraffe and it just so happened that two were standing close to the fence. Adam told me later, "that giraffe licked me like Duke and Layla (our dogs)."

Back to North Carolina
I took the opportunity to visit my Papaw again in North Carolina last week. The boys and I flew up for 5 days to celebrate Papaw's 92nd birthday. I absolutely loved watching my Papaw with the boys. He lights up when they're around.
Working on his short game.

We also visited the Nature and Science Center that's in the same town. Fun!!

Look Mom!! I'm at Wal-Mart like you!!

Chris Goes To Memphis In May
Chris, if you don't know, is a BBQ enthusiast/amateur Quer. He was invited by a friend to be on a team competing in the Memphis In May BBQ Competition and of course said YES with enthusiasm. He went for 4 days and got to soak up the whole experience...including an all night cook. We (I'm going next time) are going to help out the same team when they compete in New Orleans in a few months and we are definitely going again next year.

This was not their team. These were some of the more elaborate set-ups.

Southern Forest Heritage Museum/Festival
Now that my dad is retired, he's helping out on the board of directors for the Southern Forest Heritage Museum. Well, a few weekends ago, Chris and I took the boys up for the annual Festival. We'd never been and were blown away by how big the property is and how many trains and old logging machinery there is. Friday night we attended the benefit concert and dinner. Then, Saturday we went out to ride some trains and watch a good ole tractor pull.

Adam riding the train...you can see my dad as the conductor driving.
If you close your eyes and picture what you think a tractor pull is... I bet this is exactly what you saw. Check the driver...classic.
Chris, my sister, me, and Adam riding the train pulled by a lawnmower. (on a side note: I saw a large lawnmower parked in a spot at McDonald's today) Welcome to the country!!
