First, I'm very thankful for our many blessings.
But, Fudge, we had/are having a rough week.
Two blogs ago (in real time: exactly 1 week) Adam came down with Pinkeye in his left eye. Silly me thought I could prevent it from spreading to the right eye. WRONG! On Thursday, we began drops in that eye too. Now we must continue all that medication for 7 more days. Then, Friday at exactly 5:30, Adam falls to the floor screaming and holding his right ear. Thirty minutes later, he and I are at the Urgent Care (b/c this kind of thing always happens 30 minutes after the Pediatrician's office closes). The Doctor tells me he's surprised the ear drum hasn't already burst b/c it's bulging so much. So, Adam is prescribed 2 more meds to treat the ear infection and I'm to watch for discharge in case it does burst. Nice. Then, Sunday afternoon, after all the hand-washing and precautions, Caleb's eye starts to show signs of pinkeye. WONDERBAR! He has to wait until Monday morning to call the doctor, after much crusty goop wiping later. Now he's on eye drops. Not so easy to administer drops to an infant who hardly has eyelids and likes to grab your hand while you're doing everything. I finally had to sit on him (yes softly). Seven more days of that!! I'll have to write about part B of the yucky weekend later.

Taking Out A Limb
We have quite a few giant trees in our backyard and a few are worrisome come hurricane season. One Water Oak has grown out over our garage and the fingertips of it were starting to scratch the roof. Plus, closer to the trunk, the same limb had a nasty crack in it. We knew it needed to come down. So I called a tree surgeon yesterday and he came out after a morning storm we had. Well...that limb during that morning storm had twisted to where it was now laying ON the roof. Now it needed to come down ASAP. He got a crew out here today and in about 1 hour that limb was no more. They even blew off the patio when they were done and did not damage one thing (not that my backyard is a show-stopper thanks to our dogs). Anyway, it was pretty impressive the way they swung each piece down with precision. We feel much better now, except that the tree guy said we had 2 whole trees that need to come down soon. Well, uh, we'll start saving for that.

After: No more limb

Happy Father's Day!!
First, Happy Father's Day to all you Dads!
I wanted to take a blog moment and say a special Happy Father's Day to my boys' Daddy. He makes their worlds magical and he makes my world hysterical. We love you so much!!
The boys have been camping in the driveway this weekend. Adam and Chris spent the night out there and Caleb has been joining in when not sleeping or eating. He's only fallen off the bed once. Chris and Adam went to Toy Story 3 in 3-D right after church and then we are all going swimming after naps. So lots of Daddy time!
Coming out of the movie!

p.s. Caleb has cut his two top teeth and is not happy about it. Poor kid.

Classic
Upon picking up Adam from Vacation Bible School, I got a shock. Apparently, as he got himself dressed the 5 minutes before we were leaving this morning, he decided to put his shorts on over his new Buzz Lightyear PJ shorts that he wore last night. Well, in the rush of leaving, I didn't notice something was bunchy under his shorts. So, as he's buckling himself in his carseat at pick-up, he informs me, "Look Mom, I wore my Buzz Lightyear shorts!"
At first I was confused and then embarrassed and then I just laughed. He says nobody saw at VBS, but yeah right. They were sticking out in plain sight.
