Adam vs. The Rock Wall

Last weekend, while waiting for Adam's ballgame, we visited the annual Health and Wellness Day at the YMCA.  They  opened a bunch of activities to the kids and had a bunch of booths to mingle through.  I spied the rock wall/zip line and told Adam he had time for it.  Actually, I didn't really ask him if he wanted to b/c I knew the chance of him backing out was fairly high...like the rock wall.  So,  he got suited up and started climbing.  He got halfway before the pegs got to wide for him and he was too uncomfortable.  There was some minor freaking out, but no tears.  The spotters swung him over to the ladder to go up the rest of the way.  As his feet dangled over the edge waiting to zip line,  I think the nerves were getting to him.  But, he did it!  It was amazing and I was so proud of him!

I didn't get a good pic of the zip line but it went about 60 yards and that tower was about 30 feet high. 

 

Our Game of Thrones Party

Chris and I threw a dinner party with a Game of Thrones theme for the few friends we have that watch and read this series with as much enthusiasm as we do.  We got the cookbook called A Feast of Ice and Fire that created recipes for many of the dishes talked about in the series.  From that we chose an extensive menu that took some serious planning. We had a blast eating the stuff from all the different fictional lands and talking about what might happen next. Might become an annual thing!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Family Visit

Chris' sister Laura traveled from Tennessee with her kids for a visit.  We got to meet Silas for the first time and the boys and Lydia got to hang out as cousins.

We also spent some time catching up with extended family and celebrating Chris and Laura's grandmother's 90th birthday.  Can't wait to go visit them in Tennessee next!

 

 

 

Adam Turns 6

Yes, Adam turned 6 in March.   We decided to try a non-traditional party this year and not have anything hinge on the weather cooperating.  Three years of that not working out have taught us a lesson.  So, we let him pick 4 friends to spend a fun-packed day with.  We started off at the new bowling alley, walked over and played in  the arcade area, ate pizza, drove for Baskin Robbins ice cream, and finished up with presents in the park.  What  a great day and a great group of friends!

Our First Mystery Dinner

Chris and I were invited to hang out with some friends, but with a twist.  We were given characters, told to dress the part, and then had to figure out who killed who over a delicious dinner.  We had a blast.  The pictures speak for themselves.

Chris was very creeped out by our friend in black.  Her character was very mysterious.  We talked her into scaring him later on in the evening...

He freaked out!   It was awesome!

 

It's Baseball Season!

Thanks to Grandpa,  we got some great shots of the boys during their last game.  Caleb is on a typical 3-4 year old team which turns into a tackling football team any time the ball is hit into the field.  He loves batting but benched himself when it was his team's turn to catch. 
Adam continues to hone his skills on a really great 6 year old Coach's Pitch team. He's had the same great coach for a few years now.  He is mostly playing 1st base, bats left but throws right, and loves it all.
