The New Camper is in the Driveway and Adam Eats an Ice Cream Cone!

Saturday morning we brought the camper home to play with and put our small collection of tent camping supplies into it. I love organizing it all in the different cabinets. Chris spent the afternoon timing himself on how fast he could set it up and take it down by himself. I didn't hear a time he was happy with yet though, so he continues to practice. We absolutely love it and Adam thinks it's a jungle gym.

Later that night for supper, we headed to Jason's Deli on the way to buy camper accessories at Lowe's. You know how Jason's Deli has the free ice-cream machine?..well, we sat right beside it and Adam was mesmerized. He watched every single person fill up their cone or cup and proceeded to announce "ICE CREAM" to us throughout our meal. The big moment came...Adam got a choco/vanilla swirl cone. (I also got that) At one moment, my attention to my cone shifted to see how Adam was doing on his. He had ignored one whole side and had taken bites out of the cone on the other side without licking the ice cream first. He face was covered with ice cream. This cracked me up because he tends to eat things backwards. Hot dogs...the sides are eaten out first until it breaks into 5 pieces. Corn on the cob works out pretty well. Peanut butter sandwiches are opened, the jelly is pinched out with his fingers, and then he gets to the bread. I don't correct him b/c I think it's funny, even if it is messy.

Adam's First Night In His Big Boy Bed...

I've decided it's a magic bed. Adam goes comatose in it. We put it all together yesterday and he had to watch as we disassembled his crib and moved it into the new baby's room. He took it pretty well. I think he was more excited to use Chris' screwdrivers when he wasn't looking. We went through our normal bedtime routine and it helped he didn't get a good nap yesterday. We showed him how to lay down on the pillow and we tucked him in, read a quick book, and "big cracked" the door on our way out. I was glued to the monitor thinking he would be up in no time. But, he didn't move, didn't make a peep, and before I knew it he was out. The next morning I woke up at his normal wake-up time of 6:30am and he was still out. Same at 7:30...glorious bed!!! At 8:30, we had 15 minutes until we had to leave for church so I had to go in and wake him up! He had completely turned around 180 degrees, but never fell out. I love this bed! And that's not all! His first nap in the big bed was today after church. He slept for 2+ hours and didn't climb out at all! Chris had to wake him up to go to a birthday party we were going to be late for. So, all my worrying was ridiculous. I'm just hoping he sleeps until 8:30 tomorrow so I can sleep in too!

Went to the Doctor Again!

So I'm 22 weeks now and feeling pretty good. Vacation was great! Seventy degrees during the day and fifties at night. That felt great! Everything is going great with our new little boy! He's moving around, I'm getting bigger. My doctor reassured me that everything looks great and healthy. Can't ask more than that.

We Now Own A Camper!!

As if having another kid isn't enough, let's buy a camper. We've had the itch for awhile mostly b/c we love to tent camp, but you're camping season is limited by it being too hot or too cold. So, presto-chango, solved that problem. Actually, we spent the last few weeks really researching prices, what our family really needs, and what our truck can pull. We settled on a pop-up. It's the most bang for our little amount of buck. We went out today to look at this one that Chris got a great quote on and we could not turn our backs on it. It's one the dealer was itching to get rid of and had lowered the price to get it off the lot...we did that for him. It's got a shower/toilet which we will only use for the little ones in the middle of the night. It can sleep up to 7 as long as 2 of them are kids, an outside shower for dirty feet, air-conditioning, heated mattresses, etc. There's a lot more bells and whistles than we thought we could get. But, what we're most excited about is that we can use it immediately in this 100+ degree heat and spend more family time together. We're a busy family, but we're about to be gone a lot more!! Anyway, we're thrilled.

It's A Boy!

We had the ultrasound today and are very excited to announce that we're having a boy! Adam will have a little brother. We spent quite a while with the technician looking over every inch of him and he's super healthy which is a relief. He's around 12oz. which Chris put nicely, "he's the size of a beer!" We have some major discussions ahead of us in choosing a name. We'll keep that a secret until the big day again partly because it's fun and partly because it may take that long to come up with another boy's name that we both like.

On a side note, Adam's Big Boy Bed arrived today. It kind of feels like we know the new kid is coming and we're kicking Adam out of his crib. But, it must happen sooner or later. Naps will be fun.

Tomorrow is One of the Big Days!

So, any predictions our there? Tomorrow we are going to have our 20 week ultrasound to hopefully find our if we're having a boy or a girl. I think I will be shocked either way! If girl - what do i do with a girl? If boy - Holy Cow...2 boys!! We'll definitely let everyone know if we can actually tell. One thing's for sure...this kid likes to move! So, stay tuned!
